Our mission this Ramadan is to start a larger effort to create an academic foundation that nurtures future scholars, drawing on both the Levant's rich intellectual heritage and the knowledge gained by the Syrian diaspora.
This Ramadan in Damascus program is a pilot initiative and the first of its kind, designed to blend spiritual enrichment, cultural exploration, and academic revival in the world’s most historic city.
We aim to follow it with a month-long summer school in 2025, offering deeper academic engagement, as well as an Arabic language institute and other tourism initiatives that explore Syria’s spiritual and historical significance.
This is part of a broader mission to support postwar Syria, reconnect Syrians with the Muslim world, and foster collaboration with the global Muslim diaspora.
This program is officially approved by the Ministry of Awqaf in Damascus and is co-run by Al-Iman Mosque in Damascus and Ebrahim College in London.
All activities are conducted in full compliance with local regulations and in collaboration with registered educational institutions.
Al-Iman Mosque is one of the largest and most famous mosques in Damascus, located in the Al-Mazra'a neighborhood. It's led by the renowned muhaddith Sheikh Muhammad Naim Al-Erksoussi. It is frequented by highly educated Damascenes and is known for its Friday Fajr tazkiya lessons.
Ebrahim College is an independent higher education institution located in Whitechapel, London, specializing in Islamic studies and theology. Established in 2003, it aims to provide high-quality education in Islamic sciences while fostering a deep understanding of Islam within a contemporary context.
